Basic Life Support

Ideal for those who want to know the basics or are qualified in providing first aid and looking to refresh existing knowledge.

The QA Level 2 Award in Basic Life Support for Adults and Children (RQF) qualification has been designed for anyone who wishes to learn basic life support skills for adults, children and infants. It is also ideal for those who are qualified in providing first aid and are looking to refresh or develop their existing first aid knowledge.

Course Overview

This half day course will help you meet your regulatory requirements if your risk assessment indicates that first aid training covering emergency protocols only is sufficient for your workplace.

During this half day course, learners will be given the opportunity to practise essential basic life support procedures, including: assessing an incident, managing an unresponsive casualty, recovery position, CPR and choking.

Entry Requirements

Learners must be at least 14 years old on the first day of the training. There are no other formal entry requirements but to benefit from the learning we advise that learners have a minimum of Level 1 in literacy or numeracy or equivalent.

This qualification is valid for a period of 1 year. The learner needs to retake the qualification before the certificate expiry date to remain qualified.
